FOREIGN AGRICULTURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Foreign Agricultural Resource Management Services is non-profit, federally incorporated in 1987 to facilitate and coordinate the processing of requests for foreign seasonal agricultural workers. Authorized by Human Resources Skills Development Canada, F.A.R.M.S. performs an administrative role to the Caribbean and Mexican Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program.
 

F.A.R.M.S. is a private sector run organization, governed by a Board of Directors, appointed from those commodity groups participating in the program.

2018 PROGRAM UPDATES

The 2018 application packages were mailed in August 2017 to employers who request early arrivals. 

Please note the list of Advertising Requirements in the package mailed to employers. Service Canada will not accept LMIA applications with missing requirements or incorrect information on ads.

The new LMIA Application is now available (as of September 5, 2017).  Only this new version 2017-09-021 will be accepted by Service Canada after September 5, 2017. Previous versions received at F.A.R.M.S. September 5th or earlier will be accepted.


SAWP Wage Rate / Advertising

Reminder - The SAWP wage rate for most commodities is $11.60/hr effective October 1, 2017.  Please ensure your LMIA application and all advertising reflect this change.

Proof of Advertising - F.A.R.M.S. emailed all employers regarding proof of advertising required by Service Canada. Please ensure that the copy of your second source of advertising has the date the ad was posted, and proof that the ad was posted for at least 14 days. For online ads, the print out date on the ad at least 14 days later than the posted date is acceptable.  For store or bulletin board ads, a signed, dated attestation from a manager or employee at the store or organization must be included with the ad, verifying the date the ad was posted and confirming that the ad is still currently posted.
